A 15-minute tasty stand-by!
or try:
1 cup of long grain rice
1 pound of sirloin steak (or lean pork loin), 3/4" thick,
      cut into 3/4-inch cubes
A medium onion, diced
      (or scallions including green tops, chopped)
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Enough Asian sesame oil to coat the meat
1 teaspoon of dried red pepper flakes
A pinch of black pepper
1 cup of frozen green peas
1 egg, beaten (optional, if you are into authentic)
Start the rice cooking in the microwave oven.

Cut the meat into 3/4-inch cubes, and toss it to coat it (right in the Wok or pan)
with the onion, 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce, Asian sesame oil, the black pepper,
and red-pepper flakes (careful with the red pepper if you have little guys). When
the meat is coated, light up.

Stir fry the meat and onion over moderately high heat until browned and just
cooked, 2 minutes or so. Turn the stove off.

Add the cooked rice to the pan, and stir it into the meat mixture. Add the beaten
egg, if using it, to coat the rice, and the hot rice will cook the egg. Then stir in the
green peas, and allow them to heat through. Serve right away. Mmm ...
