The basic recipe allows you to get creative!
The ground beef is browned, and then we go from there.
There are two approaches to this: cook the macaroni and other ingredients
separately, and then mix them together, or cook the ingredients with the uncooked
macaroni to make a thick goulash. Try our Macaroni Goulash version to see the
difference. Either way only takes a few minutes.

8 ounces of uncooked macaroni
1 pound of ground beef, browned
1 (26-1/2-ounce) can of tomatoes or diced tomatoes
1 cup of diced onion
Seasoning (in order of importance):
Salt & pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of minced garlic (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (to taste)
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of oregano
1 teaspoon of paprika
Optional Ingredients (in order of importance):
1 cup of sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup of green pepper, diced
2 stalks of celery, sliced
5 to 10 ounces of frozen chopped spinach
Some folks add Soups and Milk:
1 (10-ounce) can of cream of tomato soup
1 (10-ounce) can of mushroom soup
1/2 cup of milk
